Default Coolant Question!

This seems like a really dumb question to ask, but I'm paranoid!

So, my coolant light came on and I looked at the level it was at. About a cm below the MIN line... Therefore I hurry on up to Autozone and put Prestone 50/50 and fill the coolant to the line above MIN.

Before I filled up though, I read in the instruction manual that the coolant needs G, G+ or G++ coolant... Man @ Autozone said Prestone bottle said ANY car ANY truck ANY make so it should be fine...

So the question is... IS IT REALLY FINE?!

Default I'd be scared... For what I know, AF is green or yellow and not compatible.

You paid a lot of money for the car. You can't afford a ltr. from Audi?

Check the Prestone label for the rating.

Default I misspoke. Green/orange? Must be a clue in there somewhere.

Why would the color be important?

You should have gone to your dealer, they should top that up FREE for the first year...

Default Check with your dealer ...

I've always used the Audi or Porsche coolant in my cars. They say that commercial brands are not compatible with what's in your reservoir. I would call the dealer and see if you need to have your cooling system flushed and refilled.

Default Alright. I will check with the dealer tomorrow and won't drive the car...

But the thing is I have already driven the car for a whole day. And it wasn't a question of whether I could afford the coolant, but a worry that the pink coolant was below the MIN line.

I guess my paranoia wasn't just my own. Will the coolant flush be free by chance?
