Dash Error lights after low/dead battery
Hi Everyone,
My 2011 MK2 TTS Convertible sits in the garage in winter in Canada...cold, snowy Alberta. Anyway, due to a neighbour having their house burn down last year caused by a CSA tested battery charger, needless to say I am nervous about having my car plugged in over winter to the Ctek 3300 battery tinder. So I usually go out and start my car and let it run for 20-30 mins every 2-4 weeks depending on how cold it is outside. My car is kept in an insulated, non-heated garage.
Anyway, today while trying to spend some time installing some LED lights, the car wouldn't turn over. Super low battery. So I connected the battery to the Ctek 3300 for about 5 years and the car started perfect. BUT once it started and was running the car now showed: Check Engine, TPMS, Traction Control and amber electromechanical power steering lights on the dash.
Any thoughts what would have caused this?

I had the same thing happen when I fixed my tail lights. It definitely scared me at first. If you start to drive the vehicle, the adaptations will reinitialize and the errors on the dash will clear. You still need to use VCDS / vagcom tool to clear the faults, but you should be fine.

I did a manual reset of the tire pressures first and all of the alerts disappeared after about 100' of driving. Your automatic windows will likely not work either. Move each window down, Then one at a time, move each window all the way to the top. remove finger from button and then hit "up" button again for a second.
Thanks!!!
