Default Do all 2.0 TSIs use oil?

Simple question as I look to replace my Mk1. I'm looking at a 2.0 TTS. In learning about this car, it was not involved in the lawsuit over tensioners which I'm taking as a good sign. Still I'm worried about the oil consumption that I've read several 2.0 TSI owners have suffered. Is this an everyday, every car issue or are the reports from more vocal outliers?

Thanks,
Mike

My 2010 TTS drinks a quart every 3-6 months depending on my driving...I am no expert but if anyone can shed some light, that'd be great.
Thanks

I follow several Mk 2 forums and have seen almost no complaints about the TTS engine and/or its oil use. I have seen several posts about that engine on other Audis regarding excessive oil use that Audi refused to fix. You might also want to consider a 2011+ base TT. Its TFSI engine was way underspeced and outperforms a Mk 1 225 and does not have the mag ride oil leak issues of the TTS. The only negative about the TT TFSI engine is that there was such small production that engine tuning options are limited. My 2009 TTS goes through a quart every...5K miles? Maybe? I have not noticed any *unusual* oil usage, if that's any indicator. It's got about 85K miles on it, regularly serviced, etc.

My '13 TTS just turned over 80K. The oil light comes on like clockwork just as the 10K service interval comes due. Usually takes a half or a bit more of a quart at that time. No other real issues.

Please tell me you're not actually waiting until the oil light comes on to add oil. Maybe I'm missing something, but for mine to come on would mean it's well below the 'Low' line...

I don't wait, but don't always keep as close an eye on it during the winter months. The light has only actually beat me to a service visit a handful of times. My first MKI was much thirstier and would slurp an entire quart between service visits. That one I had to watch more carefully as the first time the light came on in that one the oil WAS really low. The second MKI wasn't quite as thirsty and the first MKII didn't seem to use much at all.

Maybe the sensor is set differently in this TTS, but when the light comes on I still have plenty. I did worry a bit after what my MKIs used. This one is still showing in the range lines when the light comes on, just at the very bottom. I never need more than a cup or two to bring it back to the correct level.
