Looking to buy a 2008 3.2

I'm looking at a used 08 3.2 coupe with 40K miles. The dealer is offering it as is or they can certify it for an additional $2500. In your opinion, is the certified warranty worth it? From my understanding it only covers certain things, unlike the original factory warranty. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I would say get the info from them ...meaning what they actually cover!
I purchased mine used but the original guy only put 1,200 miles on the car and traded it in.....he also when ordering it had purchased the 4year plan which takes care of all service and pretty much anything mechanical blah blah blah....I did not know it was covered(followed the vehicle) until I took it for the first service and when I pulled out my wallet the service tech said it was all set. My point is that even at 2500 it may save you from paying out of pocket much more for something that might have been covered...for peace of mind alone. Audi's or any foreign vehicle are expensive to have fixed specially if you want to maintain through Audi service. Just my 2 cents. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

CPO is for two years beyond the orignal time, or up to 100K miles. Some thing are not covered under CPO, the sound system is one of them. They should provide you a total list of what is covered. My o5 B6 S4 was bought CPO by me. So far it has covered aux rad repair and a few other small things...coilpacks, but that was under recall. If your at 40K miles..you have 8K to go before it ends unde rthe origna warrenty which would end at 2012 anyway. So it depends if you are going to keep it long enough to get past that point in mileage or time. With the TT I would be conerned about carbon buildup at some point..it does happen to the 3.2, 4.2, and 2.0 FSI engines.
