Default nav help--simple instructions

just purchased 2009 tt 3.2 with nav. Have been used to touch screen portable Garmin which I love. Find the audi nav harder to learn, less intuitive, and slow and difficult to enter w/o the touch screen. So far I am disappointed.
Probably simply because I do not know how to properly use it.
I live 150 miles from dealer so too difficult to go there for help. Is there a cliff note book or cd for dummies on Audi nav.that might help.....?
thanks Mike

Mike –

The Nav system in the TT is really poor in my opinion as compared to multiple Garmin units and a 2006 Porsche unit that preceded it. The user interface is far less than intuitive but one of the keys is to learn how to create a directory entry for destinations. For what it’s worth, I still have the Garmin in the car cause the Audi is so hard to read and inaccurate to use for anything other than major roads.

The nav system does not suck but it isn't great. Takes time to learn but once you've used it a bit the process get's much better. Have put my Garmin in the other car and use only the one in my TT with good success. You should be able to find a manual here (there is a PDF link):

MIke, thanks...yes the trick seems to be ale to creat a destination file. Each time I think I have entered one and try a route....it goes back to some route that was in the car when I got it, whihc I cannot delete....about 5 miles from the dealer.
