Default is S-Tronic as fun as a Manual?

So today I visited my local dealership to inquire about my future TT 2.0FSI. Apparently I'm a little anxious because I was told that I was the first person to ask about the car. I did not learn any prices as I guess the dealership is in the dark as well. (I was told prices in December however.)

My discouragment came with this one piece of knowledge. My guy tells me that he doesn't have prices but that he does have knowledge of what products will be coming. the 2.0FSI will not be arriving as a six speed manual. The closest I will get is the S-Tronic transmission....(paddle shifter)

sounds alright, but what happened to the sports car? sad

No not at all, just a fancy autobox.

Default On to the Trials..

I think that I will have to try it out. On the plus side its something new and different for me, which follows suit with the Audi TT. the downsides that I am thinking about without having to drive it.... What does it cost to fix a double clutch system like this if something were to go wrong. Are there any studies on the integrity of the system in productons vehicles that span more than 2 or 3 years? and finally why would you not sell the 6 speed manual in the 2 liter?!

Default I've driven one. It is brilliant. A manual would still be more fun.

And a belated congrats!

Default S-tronic

I drive one car with automatic, second car is manual and I dont like automatic gearbox in sports car - it belongs to limousine or SUV. Mine TT Mk1 (which is sold) was Manual. Ive tried new TT with manual and its great. But Ive tried Golf GTI with DSG, and DSG was amazing. Sadly mine dealer still havent got Mk2 with S-tronic, so I couldnt try it in TT, but 99% I will order mine TT with S-tronic, because this transmition is awesome - give much more F1 feeling when you only click "ear" behind a steering wheel for gear up or down and it change gear much faster than you can with manual transmition.

First car Ive drive with "ears" for gear up or down behind a steering wheel was Maserati Spyder cambiocorsa, it doesnt change gear very quickly, but gives awesome feeling. S-tronic is much faster, so it gives even better feeling.
