Default Side Skirt Lip Protection (cheap mod).

You have already heard me complain about the gravel on the roads. Well I decided to do a small mod to protect my Side Skirt Lips.

I bought this:

(Please note that this is the Rubber version and not the Abrasive Stone)

Cleaned the area with Rubbing Alcohol, Traced the Sill Lips and applied. Then I heated them up with a hairdryer for a better bond!

The Tape packaging says to not use them for 24 hours... to let the adhesive bond.

Hopefully this helps with protecting this area. The Tape is pretty thick and indestructible!

Funny. The guy who installed my 3M Stoneguard used that same stuff in those same places.

Nice. How long did it take you?

I think it took about 30-45 minutes. I wasn't really keeping track of time.

Default That is funny!

I just had Venture Shield installed Monday!
-Front bumper
-Full Hood
-Headlamps
-Full Front Fenders
-Full Side Skirts
-Door Edges
-Door Pull Cups
-Lower Rear Bumper

I figured I would add more protection with this rubber tape!

I kept the templates and I have plenty more tape if I need to redo it again for some reason.

Default I went half hood and half front fenders plus the fog lamps with the headlamps.

But other than that all of the same areas you had done. I wanted to have some paint to wax and polish!

Scott at Custom Auto Shield here in Regina is a friend of mine so he was meticulous. His favourite cars to work on are Audis so that helps. He made little templates for that extra side skirt protection as well. You can't even see it on the Meteor Grey. The whole kit is pretty invisible on the colour. Greys seem to be good colours for that.
