Default Sudden loss of oil pressure

Three weeks ago my 2008 TT 3.2 manual trans had a 155k service with all the various inspections within normal limits at an Audi dealer. Now it had a sudden loss of oil pressure while on the highway soon to be followed by the expected loss of power and black exhaust. No external leaks found previously or now. Is it reasonable for this to happen so soon after a major service / inspection visit? They are currently diagnosing the problem so I don't know yet what the problem is. This car was running perfectly prior to this, and I am not hard on the engine. All previous maintenance was done on schedule. I am unhappy with the $500 (to start) following so soon after the $1500 service
