Is there an Audi TT-RS convertible and do they sell it in the us?
Hello All,
Researching buying an audi. Really want a convertible and am torn between an audi rs5 and a TTS. But saw that the TT RS is a stick and was wondering if they make a convertible in the TT RS. Found an article talking about it but it was a UK article. Anyone know if its available? Thanks jrogmb |
Short answer: If there was I would already own it. But there's not.
We have a 2013 TTS Roadster, which my wife originally got new as a 3 year lease. It wasn't a DD as I work from home a lot, and she was driving our SUV to work. After 3 years and at the end of the lease, there was but 12k miles on it. At that time I was looking for something new and exciting (in the TT domain). Nothing was better except the TTRS. But with no Roadster imported to the U.S., it was a non-starter. To be fair, we are looking at the new Porsche's. But we haven't decided to spend the money....yet. I'll reluctantly give up my Stage II+ tuner toy if we go that route.:) |
Sadly no, never brought to the US |
Are you buying new or used?

The S5 still had a 6 speed manual available through 2017( mine is manual) but convertibles were DSG auto only. As stated, Mk2 TTRS was manual but coupe only in North America. I’ve pretty much faced the fact that if I ever buy a newer roadster ( Or coupe for that matter), it will be automatic. The 2008 2009 TT roadster was available with a 3.2 liter V6 and 6 speed manual. They are uber rare. I found one once and should have bought it. It would have been a keeper. |
Thanks
