Default "The valve stem caps and cores used are specifically designed for the TPMS..."

Maybe it's the valve stem caps after all? Thankfully I didn't discard the black plastic ones yet, but they sure didn't look very special to me. If the error message re-appears tomorrow, I may swap back to the old valve stem caps to see if that makes a difference. The photo shows the new metal valve stem caps (which apparently look nicer but may cause problems with TPMS).

Default Was it particularly cold ?

FIlled my winter tires when it was about 5C. Leaving the dealership after my 8000 km first service, the TPMS went off about a block away. Reset it and it was fine. Checked the tire pressures and they were a bit low. The -12C weather may have had something to do with that ?

Thanks for all of the info, advice, and ideas. Resetting after driving a few miles did the trick!

2012 Audi A4 Quattro. Changed 1 of 4 tires because it was defective with same brand, size, treadwear but slightly different model. Checked air pressure in all tires and reset TPMS system accordingly. TPMS malfunction displays after 20 minutes?
