TTS price announced!
ProjectA3 (a Audi Brand Specialist @ Audi North Scottsdale) recieved pricing from Audi on the TTS!
"Finally recived the pricing for the TTS coupe and roadster today Coupe is $45,500 base price and roadster is $47,500 Premium + is $2000 more and Prestige is $5000 more than base price. the other options are the same price as the normal TT's." My source was correct... He told me to expect a price between 45-50 base with it leaning more to 45k! I'm a happy camper! |
What kind of fuckery is this?
Amy Winehouse.....
|
Wow... What's the point in selling the 3.2 then?
|
But this really makes a lot of sense. C'mon, the Z4 M Coupe starts at 50k
In all honesty, I can't see how some people could have expected it to cost more than ~46k. It is pretty much the same power level as the 3.2, with the only difference being that a turbo 4 cyl was used instead of a V6. I couldn't see how the TT S could cost insanely more when it has that issue to deal with, as well as higher hp competitors for not much more money.
SLK350 w/300hp: 50k MSRP/46k invoice Z4M w/330hp: 50,400 /$46,370 Cayman w/245hp: 49k Boxster w/245hp: 44k |
Fair price. TTS with Prestige, leather & destination should go for about $54K...
... that should be the most common config.
|
So I just priced my car!
8J354L: TTS Coupe base price = $45,500
WPT: Prestige Package = $5000 9996: Audi Exclusive paint = $2500 PLS: Silk Nappa Leather = $1000 PQG: 19" 5 Paralllel Spoke wheels = $900 Destination Charge= $825 TOTAL MSRP = $55,725 That's if I was paying MSRP ;^) |
Yup. And car magazine claims it still can't touch the Cayman in terms of handling.
|
uhh and neither can the 911!
handling that is!
|
Would you mind me asking....
Were/are you able to get lower than MSRP on the TTS?
|
Re: So I just priced my car!
Thanks, That would make mine 55,225
delete excl. paint add roadster I'm glad I was expecting a lot more! |
My MSRP quote
8J954L Roadster=47,500
PLS Silk Nappa= 1000 PQZ 19" RS4's = 900 WPT Prestige = 5000 1QE N.E. emission= ? 6W9 Front Filler = ? SOC Corporate = 825 MSRP from dealer last night = $56,125 I have my VIN and they'll give me my final price today. |
F that, I'd be in a loaded C6 or Cayman S for that price.
|
Now stop all the whinnying the price isn't that bad in fact
47.5 is what I expecting and the coupe is even better then I expected. Great...Finally all the guess work is over.
|
All TTs cost the same . . .
Well, sort of. If I were to order a Mk2, I would configure it this way:
2.0 quattro Prestige, metallic paint, Audi Exclusive interior, mag ride, heated seats, 18" wheels = $47,925 (plus dest.) or, 3.2 6-speed Prestige, configured as above = $50,475 or, TTS Prestige, silk nappa interior = $51,500 (based on what has been posted about just-released prices) Not a huge spread among the choices--at least working from MSRP. Discounts could make a big difference, and I would guess they'd be less generous on the TTS. It seems Audi has priced the TTS reasonably (at least within the TT line; it could be argued that TTs as a whole are overpriced). The advent of the TTS does make one wonder about the future of the 3.2 . . . |
I can't disclose that info... sorry.
|
Pssst...>
it becomes a 3.6 & a mid-engine model..
|
I was kinda hoping for the 3.6 to replace the 3.2 . . .
As you suggest, however, the VR6 may simply go away until the next generation of TT. If there is a next generation, given Porsche's apparent designs on Audi now as well . . .
|
Hey at least it's not $65k like early predictions. $45k base is pretty good.
|
Re: I was kinda hoping for the 3.6 to replace the 3.2 . . .
From what I gather this is in fact true! But also from what I gather only for a very short period, less than a year. And from what I'm gathering then re-introduction of the 3.6 VR6 TT as the "True" Babe R8 and Gen3.. I just hope it's as cool as it sounds & doesnt get watered down by the you-know-who's..-added- the 1st letters are P&V.
|
Hey... I'm not complaining... I'm happy with the prices!
|
Not bad for the base. After configuration though...my car would have been 56+
Kinda hard to not go S5 IMO.
Or a Cayman S with a few miles on it, CPO. |
Agree why not go S5 or Cayman S CPO'd or a few more $$
|
Option a Cayman...70k
|
The TT has some inherent practicality that gets lost with the Cayman
I just got back from a 2200 mile roadtrip with my mk1 and came to the conclusion that it would be hard to replace with a Cayman. We had the hatch pretty well stuffed with clothes, camera gear, tools and spares (maybe could skip those with a Cayman ;) It's always comfortable on long hauls and when you get to the destination (lots of twisty mountain passes) it's alot of fun to drive. Economy was 27mpg for the trip, lots of highway driving. And there were a few spots where the road was under construction so a few miles of gravel and dirt roads to traverse.
Even with two trunks I'm not sure the Cayman could swallow all of the bulky items and I don't know how the ground clearance compares either. I do know that I can go on long road trips like this without thinking twice about the types of conditions I might encounter. |
Fair enough. C6 it is.
|
... and don't forget AWD...
... Try taking a Cayman to the slopes loaded with snowboard gear. Don't get me wrong the Cayman is a fantastic sports car. And in some respects (but not all) better than the TT handling-wise. But it really is a second car for anyone with an active lifestyle.
For me the TT is a pretty amazing combination of focused small sports coupe, luxury car and mini-SUV (if it has quattro). All that and it gets great gas mileage too. |
Yup, the practical sports coupe . . .
. . . not sports car (that would be the Cayman, in my view). Your point about not having to worry about any conditions is the clincher, especially for snowbelt types like me. Part of the joy of motoring is appreciating your car without having undue anxiety over it.
|
I haven't had mine in the snow but have had it essentially offroading
I don't think I'd drive a Cayman into a place like Monument Valley, didn't think twice about it with the TT. It is a workhorse.

After owning a cayman... I completely agree!
|
It's no problem. I was just thinking most people won't get much...
...off a TT-S right now.
|
fuck that, thanks audi for offering a much better car than the 3.2 at relatively the same price
SUCKER written on my forehead!
|
Do you think 3.2 re-sale values will fall even further?
Is $41 still a good price for a 2008 3.2 S-Tronic w/NAV?
|
You know I had to come back for this... Hey Chef, medium-rare.
|
Will do...
let me know if it tastes a bit funny...ala the French toast in Road Trip.
|
the same power as a 3.2?? TTS 0 60 in 5 secs is way more than 3.2
|
RYes, but the TTS is still a 4 pot.
|
Way more? DSG 3.2 coupe does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. (is .3 seconds worth a $5k premium?)
And the TTS may still sound like a 6 speed Hoover vacuum on!
|
Here's the order guide for the coupe

Have you done it in 5.3? Cuz I was thinking more like 5.7...
And that is being generious. This is what I have seen on line of course, but if you have actually clocked yourself at that time then I beleive you. Seems alittle wierd cuz a guy in the Vortex forum put an APR K04 on his FWD 2.0T TT and he said he whoop the ABT(?) 3.2 supercharged TT. And Im sure the TTS is faster than his APR K04 car. But who knows.
