What kind of hp & torque do people think a chipped US TTS have? Also...

do you think a chipped 2L Mk2 TT will equal or exceed performance of a new stock US TTS? It seems like with the exsiting chips available for the standard 2.0L that it would.

JeffreyTT 01-12-2008 12:36 PM

I don't think you can reach the TTS numbers without a turbo swap on the current 2.0T.

You'd probably need to move to the turbo on the S3 (which the TTS will have) in order to reach those numbers and beyond.

You will with the 2.oT Quattro though. A chipped car already making 220 will make the 265 the TTS

puts out and more tq.

The Chef. 01-12-2008 12:42 PM

A chipped TTS will be a 300/300 car. Or close to it.

JeffreyTT 01-12-2008 12:49 PM

Don't be so sure since the current 2.0T, rated at 200hp, is actually putting out 220hp now...

That's what people are finding. The current crop of 2.0T are actually putting out more like 220hp at the flywheel.

Thus, I'd bet that the 2.0T Quattro will be the same mechanically, with the same turbo, and will top out at about the same as they do now.

AnimaTTor 01-12-2008 01:25 PM

Correct, a 2.0T TT can output roughly 250hp max with a chip...

... it'll need a K04 turbo upgrade to reach TTS numbers.

All the money required to get a 2.0T to match TTS power and performance ($5000 turbo upgrade, $600 ECU flash, $1500 brake upgrade, etc) could be better spent just getting the damn TTS outright. Not to mention that Audi upgraded and reenforced the engine ways not yet possible with aftermarket work.

If a 2.0T quattro ever comes stateside. An ECU upgrade would do wonders to the car at a reasonably low price. But thinking that just a flash would match a TTS is fantasy.

The flipside is that a 2.0T quattro with just an ECU flash is overall a better deal cost/performance wise than the TTS.

The Chef. 01-12-2008 01:25 PM

If Audi says they improve the engine...I believe they will improve the engine, not just change a

number. Thats a bit pessamistic....and legally problamatic.

JeffreyTT 01-12-2008 01:57 PM

They are improving the TTS engine, not necessarily a base 2.0T Quattro.

If I recall, the 1.8 existed as a 180HP and 225HP at the same time, and the engines were different and carried different internals.

Also, the 225HP required the K04 turbo, where the 180HP was a smaller variety.

sofTTware 01-12-2008 03:27 PM

As they did with 180 to 225hp 1.8L Mk1's

Not just new engine mgt s/w...the 225hp engine has upgraded internal components as they apparently have done with TTS. Should be a great ride when chipped....just got get used to the idea of that silly freakin' DSG!

I found the A3 Revo numers...260 hp and 290 torque. Thx for all of the good comments!
