2016 TT - seats coming apart!
#113
Just got my TTS back. The seats are tight and look great. I do not know what they did exactly. I do know they gave me a loaner and kept if for a day to take their time and do it right. What does that mean? No idea. I guess time will tell if the fix is any better than previous reports from others. Right now it looks great and very flush on both sides.

Just had my driver's seat repaired under warranty (passenger seat repaired in May of 2018).
Noted that the TSB is now 2042470/3 and includes a Pop-rivet and clip in the kit in addition to the prior TSB parts list.
And this time they didn't scratch the side skirt removing/installing the seat.

Does anyone have a copy of the actual TSB 2042470/3 ?
I have to get both seats done, mine lasted a whole 4K miles before complete failure, especially the never used pax seat that has lost all connection points.
I stopped by the dealer the other day and the service advisor had never seen and/or done one before. It was my hope to get the parts ordered ahead of time to avoid a 2 step appointment with going back.

Difficult to acquire from Audi, the TSB is. -Yoda But you don't need it. Just complain to your SA about the condition. And mention that the pull tab doesn't smoothly retract and relock the seat back as a result of the de-lamination, which is a safety item. They photo and send off to Audi corporate for approval every time regardless, so again you don't need the TSB in hand.
I went into my dealership a month before my annual appointment to ensure they would be able to approve and order the parts in time. Of course they still had to order some trim after the fact (they may have broken same in the process of seat removal?). At least I had a very nice A5 S-line hatchback loaner.
I believe that TSB's apply to pre-owned as well. Certainly to CPO. Heck, I'm still getting airbag TSB's on my daughter's departed 2003 Mazda 6. Again, safety items have no statute of limitation.

If that route doesn’t work try the safety issue (since it does involve replacement of the airbag and see if that works, as just mentioned in the post above. I’m fairly certain Audi would approve a goodwill repair on this one, these seats have failed in many cases within the first year.
