What does "auto leveling" do? I see my lights go up and down when I start the car and I've always wondered why.

It does exactly as its name suggests. Consider if you just loaded up some heavy items in the 'trunk'. The headlight system compensates for the somewhat non-level nose high ride by adjusting the headlight angle downward.

The system tests same upon each startup. Makes it very easy say to pass the headlight impact test at an annual safety inspection.

There are all sorts of automated technological marvels in this vehicle.

Note: If you mod-lower your vehicle then that's a whole nuther kettle of fish. Related: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...after-lowering

@Huey52, thank you for letting me know! That's pretty cool. Do you know why the front window wipers move every time we turn off the car?

It's a precursor to the windshield/screen wiper Service position. This Audi tries to read your mind in not only dual clutch next gear selection but some other items as well.

Note: After turning off the ignition, but before opening the door, tap down on the windshield wiper stalk for ~two seconds and the wipers will go into the midpoint service position. From there they may be manually hinge-lifted from the glass for hand cleaning.

Oh, and the door window(s) dropping-raising upon open-closure is also an automated feature related to Boyle's Law of Gases.

Wear mitigation. Plenty of cars do this now - flexes the rubber so it doesn’t rest in the same position, avoids the rubber setting in one direction.
