Front License Plate Bracket
Hello!
Does anyone know how to remove the front license plate bracket? Does removing it affect anything? Thanks! Kevin |
sorry forgot to mention it is a 2109 Audi TT...I removed the front license plate bracket I read somewhere about ACC needed to be reprogramed? Sorry I am noob...do I have to reprogram after removing bracket?

Remove 4 screws and enjoy no reprogramming necessary.

I believe it was only 2 screws and pry it off. It pops on and off the top ridges.

Just pull it after you remove the screws. It pops off.

I know it seems daunting to lift-pop off a panel, especially the relatively fragile urethane/plastic front fascia, but keep in mind that Audi makes it easy for dealers to add/remove same given differing state requirements (pre-owned out of state auctions in particular). Just first remove the screws and again lift as you pop it off.

Thank you for your response. The guys who delivered my TT yesterday had tried to take it off but were afraid of breaking the grille. Based on what you said, I decided to try it myself. My late husband was a mechanic and I was a computer programmer. So I am very familiar with car things and take an analytic view before trying something new. So I removed the two screws and pulled out on the bracket just a little. I then tried pushing the bracket up. Immediately I could see what was stopping it from coming off. It has to be pulled out far enough to clear that little lip on the grille just below the top of the bracket. Otherwise it is not coming off. So I pulled out far enough to clear that and it easily pushed up and off!
I appreciate your response. |
