Default Improvement recommendations for suspension?

i know with a TT roadster my options are limited but what recommendations would the board have to stiffen up my suspension a bit? I’m noticing that the car has a bit more bounce than I’d like. I don’t want to spend a fortune or affect my warranty but I would prefer not to feel like I’m flying when I go over dips in the road. Thanks all.

I know the exact feeling you mean. I went to Bilstein B16 coilovers and they are *great*! I had an A3 where I just changed the springs, and I still had the large rebound of the stock suspension. I then put Bilstein B8s, and the combo was much better. This time around, I went straight to coilover though, and much happier for it.

So roughly how much did the coil overs run and did installing them impact your warranty? Did they lower the car much? And how much more harsh did the ride get, if at all? I’m wondering if a stiffer set of shocks would work instead? I’m not crazy about dropping the car from it’s current height.

thanks for posting a response!

I’m interested in this as well but was debating if I should go with the Bilstein Coilovers or the KW V1?

On the A3, the suspension never effected any warrenty work. On my TT, i havent had to bring it in yet, but I wouldnt think so, depending upon the issue.
The B16s for the TTs run about $1800 or so. Install was about $600. I lowered the TT down to the TTRS level, so all within 'audi spec', as it were. B16s are adjustable. On 1, smoother than stock, on 5/6, about equal to stock on harshness, but better rebound characteristics. The B12s is adjustable, and about '5' on the 1-10 B16 scale (from what Bilstein told me when i called them).

I know nothing about these so excuse the dumb questions. Can they be adjusted manually after install? I was looking online for the 12s and they seem very hard to get. The closest I could find are 14s from ECS tuning.

i don’t race my car, I’m just really looking to stiffen up the rebounding. The 5/6 sounds ideal.

Adjusting the height should be done at a shop (and then the car should be aligned), but adjusting the compression/rebound on the 16s is just turning a dial. Takes about 2 minutes to go around to all four corners and adjust it to the stiffness I'm looking for.
