Default MMI went dead completely while driving

My MMI went dead while I was driving. First all the lights lit up....while turning into a gas station. After I stopped and restarted, it was normal. Then about 4 miles later, it started again and slowly shut down all the part of it till the screen was black....The car was running fine. I didn't know if I had brake lights because the blinkers didn't show up in the car at all so I pulled into a parking lot. After a little bit, everything came back but it had the check engine light and a caution triangle lit up. After restart, it only had the check engine light. I came on home about 4-5 miles and it was fine except the check engine light. I have a VagCom but no Windows computer to check it with. I have only 5370 miles on it.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

I remember another thread with this problem. I'll try to find it.

"But, officer. I had no speedometer, and couldn't tell how fast I was going!" :-)

Keep us appraised! That sounds pretty bad.

So far, the check light is off and everything normal........I didn't make it to the dealer and haven't worked on installing VagCom on my Mac.
