Licence Plate Mount Removal TTRS Mk3
The Aussie TTRS comes with a Plate Holder suitable for Euro style plates and is way too big for my personalised licence plate so I removed it. It's a simple job when you know how.. I had to learn on the fly so I thought I'd post a little how to from my experience.
Remove the 4 Torx screws, simple, but the holder refuses to simply come off. It is held with a series of tabs that clip over the top of the Honecomb sections of the Grille. see pic below. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...a4ec3a6308.jpg I used a solid trim tool and accessing from the bottom and pushed up on the GREEN tabs they gave a audable snap and I thought I had broken the first one. Then whilst pushing up I pulled the bottom of the holder out from the grille. It's very tight and appears to be held in from the sides. the Top LIGHT BLUE tab released easily. Continuing to push up whilst pulling out from the sides with a firm and rocking action released the RED Tabs . I mounted my Licence plate utilising the existing Torx Screw holes. It sits a bit low, I will need to modify the licence plate a bit to fix the aesthetics but its on for now. In Hindsight using the trim tool from the sides to "lift" the tabs would possibly be a better option |
Could you post again using a different image host? The images are not visible, it asks to upgrade to some paid account (sounds like it wants you to upgrade to enable third party hosting). The content sounds great, so it would be neat to see the pictures. Thank you for posting!

Huge improvement for sure! I'm sure others will find the post very helpful too. Great looking car, it definitely needed the bracket removal.
