MK3 TTRS Launch Control...FUN!, Impressive, but useful?
I recently got over my brake-in mileage and used launch control for the first time. All I can say is WOW and OMFG! But, aside from being a lot of fun and something to impress passengers with, does anyone actually use it for a particular purpose? For example, people who take their cars to the drag strip? I can't see it being used for anything else except maybe smoking people at a stop light—if you're into that sort of thing.;)

You answered your own question... “”aside from being a lot of fun “” |
If you're after practical features, might I interest you in a sedan? 😋

This was shared in another thread but here are every day uses for launch control :)

I said "particular" not "practical". You're right in terms of my TTRS purchase not falling into the "practical" category. :D

So what rpm do you have to hold at before relasing the brake
|
You push the accelerator hard to the floor (past its detent) and wait a few seconds while the rev's auto-settle. Launch mode knows. ;)
Brake very hard to the floor as well.

Just read in the r8 forum that their is a launch counter. And launches are limited to 200 at which point you will no longer be able to launch to protect the transmission.
