Default Never ceases to impress me

I typically take my wife's CUV when picking up project lumber but didn't have that option today. 8' and no issues with a skosh room to spare.. Gotta love the versatility of a hatchback. A true Sports - utility!

Haha that's awesome. People always look at me funny when I load bags of cement into the back of the TT.

Absolutely! My car on its third day of ownership going for a trip to Lowe's to pick up some baseboard.Fortunately the store was just down the street.

Wow! You've got me beat by a mile [of board feet]!!

My allroad served me well when helping to renovate my son's and daughter's new to them homes in consecutive years but I was pleasantly surprised that the TT could handle some odd 8 foot stock without leaving the hatch open.

I'm not sure the center console was designed to hold that much weight?

The wood was actually suspended on the passenger seat and rear area. Barely touched the console. The small load (pine & cedar) was well spread across a relatively large surface area.

However you're quite correct that consoles in general are relatively weak cosmetic structures and shouldn't be overly stressed. Then again consider rather stout individuals leaning on them as they get into the vehicle.

Thats the thing I love about this car and one of the very reasons I purchased it... I’m a T3 Paraplegic in a wheelchair, loads of room for my wife, chair and luggage for road trips. When I’m solo I just throw the wheels behind the seat (I removed the rear seat completely) and the chassis of my rigid chair in the passenger seat. If I’m with someone else they have to load my chair in the back if they want to ride shotgun
