new grill = parking sensor woes
Hi All,
I was hoping to find some advice - I have a 2016 TTS, and recently replaced the OEM grill with an RS style 3rd party one. The install went surprising well. However, I found that the front two ultrasonic parking sensors in the grill now constantly trigger. I have tried cleaning them, removing extra material from the grill around the sensors for additional clearance, but nothing seems to help. Short of unplugging them, does anybody know if you can recalibrate the sensors, or have other ideas on how to fix the issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!

hey wv_tts, it's a problem with some of these 3rd party grills unfortunately. I have the same problem and it's due to the positioning of the sensors in these replacement grills. Have a look at this link from the UK:
The Audi TT Forum :: View topic - Different front grill, different parking sensors?
Unfortunately the only solution is to purchase the 2 part grill or put your old one back in

The ultrasonic sensors in pretty much any car are specifically set up for that exact model and body components. That's so the system can be very accurate about translating a reflected sonic "ping" into an actual distance of your body panels away from an object. Also it takes a lot of design effort to get them to not interfere with each other or with the body panels of the car itself.

Thank you both for your feedback, and for the helpful UK link - unfortunately, it sounds like it's not an easy fix, short of getting an audi grill or going back to the original.
