Default No more blinking brake lights!

Hi,
I am always annoyed by the blinking brake lights with the dynamic turn signals for the US market, and have finally enabled the coding to disable this "US Only feature".
The brake lights and rear fogs (as they are the very end part of the overall brake light) will only come on when you use the brakes.
The rear fogs will also function as normal with the switch.

The coding below worked on my 2018 TTS, but "your actual mileage may vary" and as always backup your settings before making any changes.
Use at your own risk...

This video is the LED tail lights (red turn signals).

-rear brake & fog lights stop blinking with the turn indicator
** You can try the changes on only 1 light and see if they work correctly, you don't have to do all of them at once**

John

Hi,

UPDATE: I have the OLED tail lights working on my 2018 TTS !!
Plug and play, as I was told, with no coding or modifications needed, on a MK3 with LED/Dynamic Turn Signals

YOU MUST HAVE THE LIGHT SWITCH SET TO "0" AND THE IGNITION "OFF" WHILE DOING THIS INSTALL!!!

BONUS... THE WELCOME ANIMATION WORKS!!
NOTE: Light Switch MUST BE IN THE "AUTO" position for this to work, after you complete the installation.

If you want to enable the DRLs for the rears (so the OLED panels stay on all of the time/even when switch is at "0", like the video) here is the coding:
-rear DRLs
Unit 09
Security access 31347
Adaptation
Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion D 23 change to Daytime Running Lights
Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lichtfunktion D 24 change to Daytime Running Lights

I purchased my OLED lights from Norbert Ipacs at audieuroprice@gmail.com
Buy OLEDs Here
Absolutely Awesome Customer Service and very fast (3 days) shipment (tell him 95wildtt sent you and he will work with you on the price/shipping)...

See attached PDF on how to remove the lights (about 15 minutes per side):

Happy New Year,
John

I wonder if the greeting animation is a feature of the light hardware instead of the computer. Does anyone know if USA OLED taillights are a different part number than in Europe?

Due to the fact that it has the same wiring, I'm sure it's just what the lights themselves do when they first receive a "side marker on" signal.

But if the part numbers are the same as the European version, it stands to reason that it's a software setting Audi changes in North American cars they expect will have the OLED taillights. If that's the case, there's still hope I can get the animations on my car

Sorry, but there are different part numbers for the NA and non-NA OLEDs.

See this thread: OLEDs explained

Sorry for the bad news.

That's two major issues with the "fully loaded" NA builds: crappy OLED and forced non-magnetic suspension. C'est la vie, first world problems. I'll probably eventually buy the European OLED lights then, since apparently they work despite what Audi stated.

Hey John,

I was curious how those OLED taillights on your TTS were doing after almost a year being installed. I've been looking to getting them myself and installed but there really isn't a lot of information out there and even the Audi dealership here outside DC seem utterly clueless. Are they plug and play or is a software update needed to ensure they work properly? Thanks!! - Chad
