A bit of a misuse of the term to describe Audi's rather staid exterior white/grey/black predominance and very limited contrasting interiors.

Can someone enlighten me? Thanks very much.

This is undoubtedly a business reason for conservative dealer inventory selections. btw: When I ordered my A5 I wanted a manual transmission. It came in with an automatic and although they cited someone had made a computer entry error I think they were rather concerned with possibly getting stuck with a less desirable option.

What's up with the Germans anyway? It's not just Audi, but BMW, and especially Porsche and Mercedes Benz.

I guess it sets them all up for the ridiculous upcharge on "exclusive" colors.

Before I bought my TTRS, the plan was to order a TT S in "Audi Exclusive" Mexico Blue which is actually a Porsche color. That threw the dealer in a tailspin and they came back with an upcharge of $1,000 over the regular Audi Exclusive upcharge.

It's a conservative German thing. Although Porsche in the 70's had some pretty vibrant pastels. Mexico Blue would have been sweet!
