The guys at the place I went last week test fitted their Golf R hitch. It fit, but would have required a long slot cutting in the diffuser for the receiver tube. I guess the R diffuser doesn’t go as far under the car and as tight. They are looking at the business case internally for doing a version that exits lower.

That is a bummer. Will they let you know their decision? If I had to guess they wont make it. I dont see many TT owners getting hitches, it seven to find people talking about it online.

Hey guys, bumping an old thread, but I’m curious if anyone luck with adapting the Torklift Golf R hitch to a TT? I’m about to trade in my 2016 Golf R with said hitch for a 2019 TT RS, and my plan is to transplant the hitch from the VW to the Audi. Wondering if I’m going to be the guinea pig here, or if someone can give me some tips and tricks.

As far as I'm aware, you'll be the guinea pig. Please let us know how it goes!! My follow up efforts with the local company were sadly fruitless.

When you do this, can you please document any changes/modifications needed to hitch mount, and to the car (I'm thinking the black plastic trim between the exhaust tips).

I'd be glad to buy one of those Torklift hitches if the installation is relatively straightforward.

I'm sick of removing the bike tire and putting the thing in the trunk on every bike trip.

For isb ...

By "diffuser" I am assuming you mean the black trim panel between the rear exhaust tips.

Here is a photo from my 2017 (It looks a bit different depending what year the car is)

Is the slot you are talking about located in:
a) the body colored bumper
b) the flat part of the black trim directly between the exhaust
c) the black part of the trim that wraps underneath

Thanks

Did they ever decide if they are making a special version hitch that exits lower, as you mentioned?
What is the name of the place?
Thanks
