Default Trade-in value on TTRS?

Has anybody seen any trade-in values on ttrs that are loaded sans dynamic package? I was shooting the breeze with some folks at the dealership and they remarked they had no idea what the values on these cars are due to the low numbers of sales.

It is a pretty rare car. How many did they sell of the 2018s?

As an example I only see one pre-owned TTRS, a 2018, in all of New England. Tech & Black Optic packages. It has 2K miles on it and listed at ~$67K, which of course includes retail profit and thereby trade-in lower.

Some want a rare pre-owned car but some won't go near one out of concern for parts, small sample of reliability, etc. Regardless, obviously dealerships have a methodology to price one.

Oh, they sure do have a methodology. I got told 50-53k trade-in for one with 16k miles.

Try to find someone with access to Mannheim auction values, there are some online forums where you can post and get responses - though I don't recall where . Although its a small market car, I am sure there is some data on there based on auction transactions. In lieu of local market data, dealers will default to wholesale auction value for trade in numbers since they know they can send it to auction for that value if it doesn't sell on the used lot.

I am in the DFW area, and I saw a low mileage used RS offered at 68k at our local dealer a few weeks back. Figure on a car like that on trade they would maybe shoot for around 20% on the margin, so low 50's is probably about right. The dealer will always have an idea of trade in when there is a deal on the line. . .

20% margin seems really high. I could see 10 or even 15 after negotiation, with them starting at 20 for people who don't care. There's a good number for sale at mid-60s with 13-15k miles or so. No idea on time on market for those cars or if they are moving. Appreciate the insight, I'll definitely keep it in mind.

Audi USA dumped about 10 corporate used TTRS on the market a few months ago. All wound up being offered by dealers for mid-high 60s
