I received an email this morning from Stephan Reil at Audi Sport GmbH. I knew that the TT RS Parts Link 24 has two exhausts listed...8S0 253 181T, and 8S0 253 181AD. I emailed Mr. Reil and he stated "No difference in performance, just sound. Muffler is different and the tailpipes are black instead of chrome."

As an Audi Sport Specialist at Audi Grapevine, I also emailed him a month ago asking (to verify what I already thought) why the R8s and S8s came with about 40-50 miles on them. His response was that all Audi Sport vehicles (which includes S8s) are specifically road tested before they are shipped. This includes the TT RS.

The audi sport higher mileage is a known thing. They drive them pretty hard before they deliver them to make sure the engines aren't going to fall apart when the customers start abus^H^H^H^H driving them.
