Is there a reason why the MK3 Roadster was not offered in the RS model here in the US?

For the same reason they did not offer the Mk 2 TTRS roadster here and stopped selling the TTS roadster here. The sales are so small (as proven by the last years of the Mk2 TTS roadster here) that the projected revenue from the sale of TTS or TTRS roadsters in the US would not pay for the certification cost required by the Federal government and some states.
