TT/TTS/TTRS Ordering Timeline - post yours!
To help those eagerly awaiting their TT/TTS/TTRS orders, I thought it was time to create (as we see in other forums) a dedicated ordering timeline thread. There are some background threads here (https://www.audiworld.com/forums/tt-...itted-2928479/), but I was curious about usual timelines and the process.
From what I understand. (Using my case... on west coast... please correct.):-
Most dealers get an allocation (perhaps one or more per month for a TT RS), if your order is taken while they have an ‘allocation’, then your order is submitted. Otherwise your order is ‘wait listed’ until the next ‘allocation’. Once the allocation slot arrives, your order will be ‘factory submitted’. With 2-4 weeks (for my TT-RS) your ‘production week’ will begin the building of your vehicle. ‘Production Complete’ is usually within 1-2 weeks. Within 2-3 weeks your ‘ship departure’ starts the voyage. There are various threads on tracking shipping. For Houston, it would take 3-4 weeks until arrives. 2-3 days for unloading and prep (including window sticker) before (in my case) loaded on a truck. Delivery at dealer within 1 week, with a couple of days for prep.
Order Created: 9/14/17 (wait listed)
Factory submitted: 10/16/2017
Frozen to changes: ??
Production Week: 4817 (11/27/17)
Production Complete: 12/01/2017
Ship Departure: 12/20/2017
Domestic Port Arrived: 01/14/2018
Release to Carrier: 01/17/2018
Dealer Delivery: 01/28/2018 - 02/17/2018

Order Created 07/08/2017
Factory Submitted 07/18/2017
Frozen to Changes 08/30/2017
Production Week 3917
Production Complete 09/30/2017 (Was on time ETA was 9/29)
Ship Departure 10/17/2017(ETA) (Appears it left on 18th)
Domestic Port Arrived 10/31/2017(ETA) (expect that to be correct)
Dealer Delivery 10/29/2017-11/12/2017(ETA)
Car was at the port but delays in ships left it sitting even though two came in and out. Reportedly they are afforded two weeks from arrival at port to get it on a ship. Same thing with release to carrier they get like 3 days, however, a customs hold up is outside anyone's control
From day one without the order submitted I was told the end of October beginning of November and it's almost dead on. At this point, I anticipate I will take delivery on the 11th.

This is "As I remember", the only known dates were the date I received my option build sheet, the April 2nd order submission and my delivery date, I didn't inquire further.
-Mid Feb, I placed a deposit down to secure my car in the order cue with my local dealership
-March 30th, order build sheets were provided to me from my dealership(known date)
-Order placed April 2nd into Audis system as soon as it opened for orders (known date)
-About a week later I was told my "Allocation number" which I cant remember now
-Car arrived @ the Eastern Sea Port 6th June and a hold placed on the car by TC (Transport Canada)
-Sometime in here TC release was approved and Audi placed hold on car for NA release.
-Car arrived at my dealership 25th July
-I took delivery July 28th (known date)

06 June 15 - Placed order and rendered deposit. Knowingly somewhat premature for the Mk3 debut in the US.
08 Oct 15 - TTS built
20 Nov 15 - took delivery. Delayed a week in German port (Emden) for unknown reason. Delayed in US port (Davisville) for an extra week for some unknown Audi onsite engineering hold.

Funny you ask. They are holding TT RS and RS3 at the port in Germany, won't tell us why. So my car has been sitting there since the beginning of October.
At this point, it's 2 or more weeks out to be loaded if I am lucky. As such I just turned in my S4last night to stop the depreciation. I have another car and with the weather, change I am not likely to drive it anyway.
My theory is the mysterious CEL is the cause since it doesn't sound like they know why that is happening. Its one thing to have a delay but be honest with the customer and tell us why.

Sorry to hear that, Timzcat! I waded through a zillion of the very lively "RS3 Delivery times" thread messages... and didn't see many folks held up in Germany. Hope it frees up soon, because...
In other news, I received an email today from Audi saying PRODUCTION HAS STARTED for my TT RS... That's 16 days earlier than originally stated. I'll take it. Happy dance.
