Default "CAN: Not Ready" Message

I'm using the newest version for Ross-Tech, and I keep getting a "CAN: Not Ready" after hitting the TEST button. K1 and K2 are ok. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the software and the USB driver. I've tried different USB ports, and different ignition positions.
I did get it to successfully connect once or twice, but i just tried for about 30 mins, and kept getting the "CAN: Not Ready" message, and none of the diagnostics tools work. Could I have a bad cable (its an offical cable from Ross-Tech), or am I doing something wrong? I've Restored Defaults, and everything. Nothing helps.. Thoughts?

Default Some questions...

Which car are you trying that on?
Have there been recent mods to this car?
What is the version number of the version you use?
Do you get the same result no matter which car you are working on?

Trying it on a 2008 Q7, no mods
I'm using the newest 803 thats downloadable from the site, and don't have another car available to try it on.

Default Could be a bad cable,

Or it could be a bad socket in the car.

Call us or e-mail Support@Ross-Tech.com.

Not sure if it's a typo, but please make sure to use the latest 805 instead of 803.

Default I think its the cable

I've tried it on an 08 Q7, an 08 A6, and an 08 TT. All three project the "CAN Not Ready" message and do not connect to the interfaces.
I'd be happy to call you when I'm in the car with it, but my hours may conflict with your hours (i.e. i'm not at home when you're at work).

I assume there is some warranty on the cable, correct? I purchased it only about a month or two ago.
