Default 01437 Control Position not learned - allroad

I posted this on the VAG-COM mailing list with no response, hopefully someone here can shed some light for me?!

'01 Audi allroad with the current version of the VAG-COM software (HEX-COM USB), registered.

Short history:
Someone backed into me in a parking lot, rear door damage to the rear quarter panel. Picked the car up from the stealer after the body work, and the suspension was messed up (along with some missed body work). The car was slammed, and wouldn't raise itself up, so
they took the car back in, said that they put a T back on that had popped off, and performed the basic ride height settings. I picked
the car up yesterday, and after five minutes, the suspension lights were back on and the car was acting up.

So I broke out the VAG-COM and the Bentley. I checked the error codes, I have:
01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-10 Control Limit Not Reached- Intermittent

01437 - Control Position not learned
35-00

My guess is that they forgot to put the car into "jack mode" when they lifted it to perform the service. When I clear the codes, the first one goes away, but the 01437 keeps on coming back. So the Bentley says that you need to perform basic settings. I found some
measuring blocks that seem to back that.

When I attempt to log in and use the code 31564, I am continously getting "too many communications error to continue." I found on the site to bump up the Char Int to 3, and for a faster computer go higher (Dell 1.8gHZ Centrino laptop - USB). I've been all the way up
to nine and still nothing. I can read and clear codes just fine, but can't get the login to work. When I don't get the error, and go into Adaptation - 10, I get errors on the measuring blocks for 01-04 (different corners).

Is there something else to change to get around this error? Or did they fry the suspension computer from not putting it into jack mode?
I've read of some major (expensive) issues being caused from shops not doing so. If you have any other thoughts, please send them my
way!

Many thanks!
Matt

Default Will give it a shot... Virus Scanner *might* be the culprit?

Going to the dealer tomorrow (since the problem started there), but would love to fix it myself...

Default FWIW - this happens on both of my laptops...

Both are newer Dell units. I'm at the Audi dealer now since they are ultimately responsible, but we'll see what they come up with.

Default Back from dealer

They gave the car a 45 minute look over, and commented that they put in the basic settings when the car was in last time. They are perplexed and asked for the car for an entire day to further troubleshoot. I've already been without the car for three weeks guys, and now you want me to come back in 3-4 days because you don't have any loaners? They knew for a week that I was coming in today.

Anyway... I just had another look at the car, and since it was at the dealer, here are the errors that it now has:

Control Module Part Number: 4Z7 907 553 B
Component and/or Version: - 2C1A1 X031
Software Coding: 25500
Work Shop Code: WSC 06417
4 Faults Found:
01437 - Control Position not Learned
35-00 - -
01577 - Turn-Off due to Over-Temp
35-10 - - - Intermittent
01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-10 - Control Limit Not Reached - Intermittent
01780 - Sensor for Vehicle Leveling
04-10 - Mechanical Malfunction - Intermittent

I'm SO tired of this at this point. I am leaning towards it being nothing that I can do with the VAG-COM. Communications are still flaky to the channels 01-04. I get Error messages for the blocks, and the main VAG-COM screen comes back with the login droppped message.
