Default 16684/8 - Misfired on cold start. Engine sputtered and smell of sulfur

Leaving work this evening, the check engine light (blink and solid) came on when I started the engine. It then sputtered for about 5 - 10 minutes as I try to drive home. On the way home, I noticed the exhaust smells of sulfur. After driving for another 5 min, the sputter went away - check engine light is still on (solid). Could this be a problem of a bad cat?

Thoughts? Thanks!
