Default UPDATE 1-29-07, Throttle Body is NFG

So I tried slamming on the gas pedal, I tried cleaning out the TB while it was on the car which was a huge pain. That 5mm allen bolt is unbelievably hard to get at. I managed to snap one of the coolant hoses because apparently plastic is pretty brittle when its 15 degrees out.

There was quite a bit of carbon I pulled out of there but still no dice. Brought it to a shop today and sure enough the Throttle body is bad.

Thanks for the suggestions. They didnt work for me but I'm sure they will for someone else someday.

I am having a the exact same problem. My battery died, tried to jump the car, car started running like crap, did a VAGCOM came up with the same codes, tried cleaning the TB while inside the car and it's still running like crap.

Would this be a viable alternative to buying a new one? It says the cable pulley is busted but can be replaced with the one off of mine. Is this true?<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-AUDI-A4-PASSAT-JETTA-THROTTLE-BODY-2-8-V6-E-16_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33709QQihZ008QQitemZ 180118803633QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V">eBay Link</a></li></ul>
