Default DTC001632

I have just been resurrecting a 2006 Audi A6 C6 3.2l fsi s-line quattro that has been stood for 3 years -

Got pretty much everything back to specification except there is 1 fault I cannot get rid of.

Anybody shed any light on this for me?

I believe that's the tuning valve on the front of the intake manifold. Front and center on the intake under the audi engine cover there should be a 2 wire connector. Using a diagram, find which pin #/ terminal they are on the ecu connector. Check continuity and resistance from the intake/solenoid connector to ecu connector, end to end. Also Ohm said solenoid on the intake. Those results should point you in the right direction as to where to continue from there.

Indeed you are correct - went to have a look at it and with the slightest of touches the 2 wires came out of the connector!!!

looks like a generic Amphenol connector - may have 1 laying around somewhere - failing that a temporary bodge may have to come into play !!!

thanks Sam

Glad to hear! Yes that is a very common connector on vag cars. Or if you had a correct wire terminal tool and a extra connector with female wire ends from a different harness, just de-pin it and use the wires with sauder or butt connectors in the excisting connector. When you get it fixed, let us know if it’s problem solved.

Managed to find a replacement connector and spliced it in - all good now, the fault has disappeared !!!

However, a new fault has come about -

Bearing in mind how easy the previous wires broke, I think I may have damaged another connector, any idea where this one is?

Good to hear. I would clear the fault and see if it comes back, maybe just a hic-up ? But either way i think thats the mmi module? dont hold me to it but i believe its located behind the mmi screen in the dash.
