Help with re- occuring DTC's

17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation
35-10 - - - Intermittent
17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation
35-00 - -

This happens only if I put in a gear 3rd or higher floor it till 6500rpm to change to next gear but right at 5500 rpm boost is lost and I get into limp mode and no check engine light I have swapped out both the stock DV and the 007Forge Dv and even re lubed it et al. I see no visible boost leaks. In the process of installing a boost gauge to help figure out the problem.

All help from will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

There is something very very wrong with your car

rpm mp cmd IC
4400 1080 1090 1370
4560 2420 2550 1840
4840 2550 2550 2310
5080 2480 2550 2230
5360 2360 2550 2160
5600 2200 2550 2100
5800 2110 2550 2070
5960 1560 2550 1580
6080 1450 2550 1450
6200 1440 2550 1440
6320 1430 2550 1460
6400 1410 2550 1450
Your car's ECU has a big problem cause it wants to make full boost anytime. Third row is command pressure. If you would make 1,55bar of boost up to 6400rpm your turbo and engine would say booomm. At 5800rpm your car goes into limp mode and makes 0,44bar for safety reasons. Visit your dealer fast.

The logs were taken under WOT hence the discrepancy.

No, CMD and IC should be the same or IC a little higher in overboost but never ever like yours

This is my boost from VAGCom. Red is ic pressure and yellow is cmd pressure. It's a custom chip and the K04 is at it's limit.

But if the boost sensor in the IC goes too high over the requested boost

like yours at 4500 rpms then the ecu will drop into a limp mode. It throws a code for neg deviation since the requested boost is lower then the actual IC presure and the ECU cant tell the N75 valve to open more to adjust since it is at full already. The problem is the turbo is stalling too much at that time and cant produce the CMF at a steady rate. I had this issue with my K03 running at 20psi at the drags on a custom GIAC chip.

I never get limp mode under normal driving unless I go thru the gears with the pedal to the floor

carfanattic 03-20-2003 08:12 PM

Without the pedal to the floor you'll make no or little boost
