HELP! VAG can't talk to car at all...

HELP! VAG can't talk to car at all...
radio shut off completely the other day as I reached a pretty high speed and hasn't worked since. So I tried to VAG it and though I get a connection, thru options, I can't talk to the car at all. any ideas? I also replaced the coolant temp sensor and need to clear old codes.
MY2000 S4.
Also, a little foggy but, I believe when I run the options to check for connectivity there are 2 display/connections? One says short to ground maybe? and the other says ok...could this be the problem?
