Default How do I......

do anything....Is there a searchable data base on possible funtions that can be changed with VAG-COM.

Example: how do I change the service interval?

I can not seem to make any progress with the manual as far as specific instructions by function.

YEAH....Im a newbie and it all seems greek to me. This see the service manual is no help. I have Bently but where is this stuff?

This whole experience ismost frustating.

TIA

Default Serivice intervals:

To reset them when they're active, simply stuff a 0 into adaptation channel 02 (in 17-Instruments obviously).

To change them is a bit more complicated. Adaptation Channels:

40: Distance in 100's of km since last service.
41: Time in days since last service
42: 1000's of km between services (min value for flex intervals)
42: 1000's of km between services (max value for flex intervals)
44: Days between services
45: Oil type (1 for standard, 2 for extended service rated oil)

Thanks for your reply and now I know how to do this ....BUT....you wrote the bloody thing,
The REAL question is how would I find this out on my own?

As stated "I can not seem to make any progress with the manual as far as specific instructions by function.

YEAH....Im a newbie and it all seems greek to me. This see the service manual is no help. I have Bently but where is this stuff?

This whole experience is most frustating."

Default VW/Audi don't document everything they should..:-(

We're working on putting a lot of stuff that isn't documented by VW/Audi here:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com

Other sources for info that you may not find documented in the "official" places:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/index.html

And:
