Question Regarding Code 17538/P1130
I have a check engine light with a recurring code, 17538/P1130.
When I pull the code and copy the data and paste it in a document it states:
1 Fault Found:
17538 - Fuel Trim: Bank 2 (Mult): System too Lean
P1130 - 35-00
But when I look the code up in the Bently, it shows:
P1130
17538
Long Term Fuel Trim mult., Bank2
System too rich 1)
My question is: Do you know if this code is actually a lean or rich code? My Bently shows the lean code as 17546/P1138
Thanks!

I would like to get more professional opinion on this code
The codes are confusing, because nobody seems to know whether they reflect the fuel trim condition detected by the ECU or the fuel trim condition resulting from the ECU's response.
Specifically, does a fault code like 17538/P1130 mean: (1) The car was detected to be running too lean and the ECU is overcompensating by adding too much fuel (i.e., system has to run too rich to achieve good trim), or (2) The car was detected to be running too rich and the ECU is overcompensating by removing too much fuel (i.e., system has to run too lean to achieve good trim)
The Bentley manual is not very clear on the difference between the codes, especially since it recommends the same diagnostic checks for both codes! So, if someone know, definitively, what each code actually means, would be greatly appreciated!
