Default Ross-Tech Had it Correct !! 1990 Audi 80

A couple of months ago I called Ross-Tech and asked if their software supported a 1990 Audi 80 with a Air Bag light that came on. They said yes. I own several VW's and a 2002 A4 so I decided to purchase Vag-Com to support these cars. I couldn't find the OBD port for the life of me so I posted threads on several sites and I got lots of (no way it will work) car to old. I called the local Audi dealer and they told me that the only way I can turn off the Air bag light was through the Air bag controller. I spent one hour looking for that magical Black and White connector under the dash and even in the trunk. I found it just to the right of the gas pedal or lower left of center console. I plugged in and found soft code (Air bag igniter, driver side) I cleared and no more light!!. Excellent Job Ross-Tech!! Tony.

Default V8q OBD connections for the archives

Yup. The main ECM, TCM, and Insturment Cluster connectors are under the passenger floormats.

V8q airbag connections can be found by removing the driver's side center console carpet.

VAG-COM 4.11 works with the ECM and Airbag. No compatibility with the TCM or IC, although there are only 5 or 6 codes from the TCM and only 3 from the IC.

Default Nice Work Mr Good Bytes

Is the black and white connector I found only to access the air bag? Is there another connector for the rest of the car? I believe you called them, MTC,ATC....this is new to me. It would be good to know what they mean. I will have pictures soon for Andy showing where they are. Tony.

ECM = Engine Control Module (computer)

TCM = Transmission Control Module (another computer)

I don't know about Audi 80's.

Try those sites for more info, seems mostly geared towards the 90 but 80 might be similar??
