I run a 99' 1.8TQ A3 and recently came up to an unstable idle problem when a stop at the lights or when I slow down to idle. Vaged the car and I found 1 fault code:
17834 - EVAP Purge Valve (N80): Open Circuit
P1426 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
So i tried the output test thing to see if the N80 valve clicks fine and everything sounds right apart from the N75 boost controller which only clicks once and then stops.
Throttle body is recently cleaned, MAF sensor and spark plugs are brand new.
Can anyone help me solve the idle problem and how can it be related to the fault code?
Also forgot to mention that once this week when I tried to turn the engine on it died immediately and that happened 2 times in a row...

the fault condition did not exist at the time you pulled the code (or at the most recent opportunity the ECU had to check for it before you pulled the code). Therefore it is not surprising that the N80 valve clicked when you ran Output Tests.

I'd suggest you check any connectors between the ECU and the N80 valve.

and they seem to be fine. Any other ideas about how to fix that idle problem? I vaged the car again today and there were no codes but the problem persists, i don't know but that not clicking N75 put me in to thoughts...
