Thumbs up FS in ME: 2007 Audi S6 48K salvage tittle

Hello Everyone,

Ready for an adventure? this car has been on one... this is her story and the story of how I got in over my head.

I bought it at auction in 2013 it was flood damaged in 2012 in New York.

When I got the car first thing we did was to check the damage. We took out the entire interior, there was a faint water line 1.5 inches up from the bottom of the floor panel level across the bottom of the car so water did get in. We changed the engine and transmission oil no sign of water!! Next up was diagnosing what needed to be fixed. The Engine and transmission ran the car could drive under its own power but in limp mode. The interior was in good shape apart from the obvious fact that water got into the electronics. We replaced the entire interior wiring harness and various sensors, I will compile a full list of sensors that were replaced. But at that point all interior functions were working correctly seat heaters, rear view camera, electronic seats, electronic, heated mirrors everything.

Here lies the down fall of this project, after spending 13-15k I was running low on money. The interior is mint, But there is a problem with the Engine computers. The Car will run fine up to 40 MPH after we reset any faults however past 40-45MPH the car goes into limp mode. We have diagnosed the issue to being a miss of lack of communication between the two sides of the v12 engine. Those two computers need to be synced together and to the car. Now after further investigation we realized one of the two computers was not original and had been swapped at Some Point. Not sure when so we spoke to a dealership friend and had him try to reset the computer and sync them, Due to security issue we discovered it is not possible to re sync them, and we are back at square one. Now its about this time in mid 2014 that I get a new job and begin traveling full time. Lack of money to buy a new set of computers from the dealership at 6k and lack of time leads to my beautiful S6 siting in my mechanics shop, being moved to rotate the tires and firing up the engine about 1 a month until now

My Question to you is what do I do? I am back for four moths and have some time, though I could use some cash more than I could use a car at the moment. What is the best offer out there for this beauty? I'm located in southern Maine.

All for sale ads require you to list a price. FWIW, clean title S6s can be had for less than $12K nowadays. Unfortunately, they depreciate like a rock, primarily due to the fact that when the 3rd or more owner buys one, they realize that the cost of maintenance and fixing issues is not what they expected and that V10 engine is not cheap to maintain.

Honestly if the car was running with that mileage it would be worth decent $$ but being that its not running (or should i say running poorly) maybe $5K

Good Luck

Not to be mean, but if I were you I'd take the hit and sell it, because once you replace that $6k part, it still might not run right. Then it's back to square one again.
