FS: (AB, CANADA) Imported 2003 Audi RS6 Avant 4.2L TT, Daytona Grey, 89k kms!
Extremely rare 2003 Audi RS6 Avant imported from Japan to Canada with a low 89k genuine kms. There is absolutely no rust on the vehicle and the underneath of the car is flawless. Only upgrades to the car were KW coilovers to replace the troubled DRC system and a new Alpine stereo. Car is in overall excellent condition both inside and outside, turns heads everywhere it goes. The Daytona Grey exterior paint has been recently polished and protected by Gtechniq ceramic coating. Interior is in near perfect condition with carbon trim and Recaro sport cloth/leather seats. OEM headunit has been replaced by a fully loaded Alpine double-din deck with GPS, Bluetooth, Video, XM, etc.
Recent Maintenance:
-OEM T-belt service with waterpump & coolant temperature sensor
-KW V1 coilovers & new strut mounts
-front control arms
-Front rotors/pads
-Coolant Change
-Upgraded OEM compass rear view mirror
-New air filters (OEM)
Vehicle is VERY fast. The acceleration just seems to be endless, truly a pleasure to drive. Car does not need anything and is currently sitting on 18” winter wheels/blizzak tires (OEM 19” wheels with near new Bridgestone Potenza’s can be negotiated into the price). Car comes with all import documentation, Japan maintenance records, owner’s manual and full receipts for all the work that has been done locally. NO TRADES
Vehicle is located in Sherwood Park, AB.
Price: $43,500 CAD

Canada allows for importation of any vehicle after 15 years, whereby the epa and fmvss requires 25 years.

Not true. This vehicle is on the NHTSA's "List of Non-Conforming Vehicles Eligible for Importation". You will have to hire a Registered Importer, but the car can indeed be brought into the United States immediately. There are 2 or 3 of these C5 RS6 Avants already in the US, including one formerly owned by Paul Walker.

"that certain 2003 Audi RS6 and RS6 Avant passenger cars that were not originally manufactured to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) are eligible for importation into the United States because they are substantially similar to vehicles originally manufactured for importation into and sale in the United States and that were certified by their manufacturer as complying with the safety standards (the U.S. certified version of the 2003 Audi RS6 and RS6 Avant passenger cars), and they are capable of being readily altered to conform to the standards"
Although, this vehicle complies to Canadian standards, but not US standards, which would then require further modificaiton

I stand corrected

The Registered Importer will bring it in line with NHTSA/EPA specs. Mostly minor stuff like bumpers, cluster, seats, air bags, seat belts. You can see everything that must be changed in the link you posted.

It doesn't comply with Canadian standards, it's exempt because it is >15 years old. If it complied to Canadian standards, you wouldn't need a Registered Importer to bring it in to the US.

Yes, $10-15k is a good estimate. Also would take about 6 months if everything goes smoothly (passes EPA the first time, all replacement parts can be sourced quickly, no paperwork logjams). A lot of that cost is either RI profit or non-part/labor related though, like bonds, shipping, duties, other fees, etc.
