1958 DKW Van (Non Window)

California Lic. 2YYDO54. This vehicle is restored to like new condition. Has 35765 orig. miles on it. The 900cc 3 cylinder, two stroke engine starts and runs like new. Four speed manual trans, column shift. This a complete restoration, except not a frame off type. Professionally painted inside and out. It appears better then new. Competely detailed in all areas. Orig. glass is in perfect condition as is the rubber weatherstrips. Has orig. emblems, nameplates, niorrows and alum polished trim is like new. Drives,runs and like new. Excellent running engine and trans. Tires are slightly old , but still in driveable condition, Size; 600 x 16, blackwall. Engine and engine compartment have been totally detailed, painted and etc. New points, condensers, spark plugs and spark plug wiring. Carb. disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt with major rebuild kit. Engine starts easily and runs as new. Engine runs on a mixture of regular fuel and oil mixed in the tank. 25mpg at 50-55mph. All painting has been done within the last year. Vehicle was restored by the present owner.who has lots of experience restoring other vehicles.Vehicle is in concourse/show condition thru out.

The hot air outlet section and louvers have been refurbished with new rubber connectors and rubber trim. All weatherstrips and mouldings for the doors and windwings are in excellent condition. New hardboard panels have installed on the interior of all doors. Fronts seats have new special ordered Naugahyde material in a navy blue/grey color with red piping. This is the type with small holes in it, as you would fine in early German cars.

The orig. exhaust expansion chamber is in excellent condition. No rust holes or leaks. A new single piece rear exhaust pipe has been installed. Clear California title. Current tags for 2008 with insurance. In case of shipping overseas, the overall height is 79" . May need smaller tires installed to fit inside of current type shipping containers.

This DKW VAN is possibly the best -restored example of this marque in the USA. It is priced accordingly. More photos and other details can be furnished.
