2016 A5 S line wheel/tire change
I did a quick search - found lots yet no specifics to my issue.
OE rims/tires on the car are 245/40/18, 8.5 x 18 ET29. I'm looking at a set of 245/35/19, 8.5 x 19 ET 40. The tire/rim calculator says inner clearance 11mm less, outer position retracted by 11mm, diameter difference .04" (.14%).
So I need help understanding if the 19" will fit with no issues. Is the calculator saying the new set will move inward by 11mm?
Thanks!!

Correct - the front lip of the 19x8.5 ET+40 will sit 1/2" further inward when compared to where the front lip of the O.E. wheel sits now. The inside lip of the wheel will also sit 1/2" closer towards the suspension when compared to your O.E wheels.
The new combination should fit just fine, assuming the other wheel specs are appropriate (I.E bolt pattern, center bore, etc).
