2018 SQ5 Tire Wear

Has anyone had premature tire wear problem on their SQ5. I have a 2018 SQ5 with approximately 8,100 miles with a set of Pirelli P Zero 255/40 tires on 21" wheels. About a month ago, I started getting a vibration at 60-70 miles an hour. Brought the vehicle into Audi and they said it was due to tire wear. Front tires measured 3/32" and 4/32" thread. Previously at 4,800 there was 7/32" thread remaining on both front tires. My driving habits are considered normal mostly in the city and some highway. Audi said this was normal wear for this type of vehicle and that I needed new tires. It's beyond me how new tires could only last 8,000 miles. Never heard of such a thing as I have had many cars with performance tires and all have lasted at least to 15-20K. Audi offered no compensation at all and very little help when it came to replacing the tires, so I elected to go to 20" wheels with Continental all season 255/45 Extreme Contact DW6 tires. So far so good but will have to wait and see.

Same experience. 8900 miles, first oil change: 2/32" tread, no treadwear warranty, and no sympathy from Audi, just an estimate for $1600 for new tires. Obviously not going with Pzero again, going to try Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, they at least have a 30k mile treadwear warranty. I knew not to expect much, but I expected at least 15,000 miles or so.
