Default 225/45R17 on 2007 a6 c6?

Hi,
can I fit 225/45R17 wheels to my 2007 a6? Currently I have 245/40/18.
I read here I can fit 225/50R17 for winter tyres, but I have a chance to buy a good set of 225/45/17's wheels, but will they work?

225/45 is about 0.7" smaller in diameter than stock (245/40R18). The smaller tire has less load capacity than we would be comfortable recommending, and could make the tire more vulnerable to bubbles or blow-outs on rough roads. I'd take a pass on the sale.
