235-35-19 for my A4 Avant
Ranked in order of preference so far...
1. Mich A/S Plus at ~$260 ea.
2. Brid RE960 AS at ~$215 ea.
3. Goodyear F1 A/S at ~$170 ea.
As much as I would like a high perf tire, 100 miles a day makes that an expensive proposition. So for now, quiet, comfortable with consistent wet performance throughout the tire's life is the priority (*sniff*). I'm not opposed to spending more to meet those expectations, esp. if I have to live with that decision for 30-40K miles.
I've read TR's test results. I'm biased against Goodyears for reasons that can be found using the search feature. Bridgestones don't seem that far behind the Michs in the test results, but reviews of each tire suggest that the Michs might leave me far happier. Treadlife might suggest I'll recoup some of the extra up front cost in increased treadlife.
Anybody using either of these tires have any comments to add?
I've got dedicated winters and track rubber. The only reason I'm leaning toward AS tires is better treadlife.

I run 245/35-R19 on my A4 Avant...
Right now I have the Potenza RE-960 AS on there. I used to run 265/30-R19 Yokos on the car, but one had a big chunk missing at 10k miles so I had to replace all 4.
I think they are just fine for what they are, a high performance all season tire. Turn in is definitely not as crisp as max performance summer, but the A/S is fine for everyday street driving. They are fairly quiet and ride comfort is good. I was never a Bridgestone fan before, but I like these tires.
FWIW, I used these at Laguna in Feb for 2 track days and they worked fine (track was VERY wet and slick).
I also like the 40,000 mile treadwear warranty. Didn't see any other UHPAS tires with a treadwear warranty.

One (minor) thing about the RE960 is...
they can be pretty noisy when going over expansion joints (the stuff in the road going perpendicular to your travel direction). I guess I got used to it after a while, but initially I found it very annoying.
They also suck in snow, but I'm assuming you will only use yours during the other three seasons?
BTW, mine are in size 235/45/17. G/f has them in size 195/65/15 on her Jetta, and they seem to be much quieter, so I guess it's width-dependent.
Would I buy them again? Maybe, but only for 3-season duty.

good to know...just emailed Gary and found out the Michs are coming in in 245's soon.
Noise is a factor for me. As for winter usage, I would like to be able to run them longer into the fall, since I usually don't see snow until Jan. Right now I'll switch over in Nov just because the temps are already dipping below 40F. Spring changeover is a non-issue because I'm usually waiting until potholes have been exposed by spring rains and then filled.
