B6 S4 Summer Tires
Hey fellow B6 S4 owners,
I'm looking for some high performance tires that will perform well in dry and wet, plus have decent tread life. I'm considering the Conti 3s, but I'm wondering if there's anything else out there that might be an improvement for less $$$.
What tires are you running and what do you like about them? What do you dislike about them?
Thanks!

I've heard a lot of good things about the Falken 452s
I'm running Conti SC2s and after doing some research on-line I think that the Falkens may be my next choice based on the value (performance at a price).

Re: I've heard a lot of good things about the Falken 452s
Thanks guys.
Have you guys looked these? After doing some more research myself, I found the Bridgestone POTENZA RE050 A on tirerack with the highest rating out of 23 tires. It's survey based, so I'm not sure how reliable that is, but I figured I'd float it out there.
How do you think they compare to the sneakers you like? And where'd you find the material to base your decisions?
Thanks again!

everyone is going to have some degree of bias when selecting/reviewing
based on an individual's personal set of criteria and priorities.
Since I had a finite budget I liked the price of the Falken 452s as a starting off point and did searches on Audizine, Audiworld, VWVortex and some other forums to get actual user opinions and feedback on the specific tire.
I have heard a lot of good things about the BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWs but they are somewhat pricey in the size I needed.

Dunlop SP Maxx
They're pretty comfy for a max perf. tire, but they flatspot very easily so I cannot recommend them. I will probably buy the CSC3 next time around.

Re: everyone is going to have some degree of bias when selecting/reviewing
I agree. I actually have a set of dunlop winter sport m3s that came with the car when I bought it.
i don't want to drive them through the summer, so that's why i'm looking for well performing summer tires, though i want to stay around $200 and i'd like to avoid dismal tread life.
at the same time, the idea is not to buy a tire that's too well rounded that i'll never get use out of the winter tires.
Plus I just bought a yamaha r1 and right now, that's where most of my mod money is going. ok so i'm bragging now ;-)

i looked at the 050 A's and talked to my local tire shop. They told me they were ok,
and then recommended 2 other tires as better cheaper options. I ended up with the Khumo MX and i am very happy with them. I have S03's and 070's on the other cars. The MX's are smoother riding, about the same volume and handle very well.
