Default Bridgestone Potenza RE050A still good?

i have an '07 infiniti G35 with Sport package...

Fronts are 225/50R18 and Rears 245/45R18. OEM was Bridgestone Potenza RE050A.

they were very good, but wear very fast. i will NOT do all seasons...

the only other option that fits my car seems to be Yokohama ADVAN Sport.... but they are a little more $$.

it has been suggested to get the RE-11s, but they don't come in my size for the fronts.

Correct, for summer tires that match in those two sizes you're limited to the RE050A and Yokohama Advan Sport.

The factory wheels are 18x7.5/8.5. It might sound odd, but you can actually mount 245/45R18 on those front wheels with no problem, which will open up more tire options for you as well as reduce some of the understeer built in from the factory.

hmmmm.... i don't mind at all taking understeer out. but i would have thought that wider tires would put MORE understeer into it if they were on the front axle, no?

More grip up front generally equals less understeer.
