Default Can you fit wider tires than 225/45 17 with the R28 package?

I bought the ronal 17" package like everyone else, and am scared to death about having rims so wide that I will scrape them. With the 225/45 17 tires, i have more clearance between the tires and the suspension components than when I had a 225/50 16 wheel and tire set up. So, could i fit wider tires? Does anyone have tires wider than 225/45 17 on the R28s?
I am going to replace the tires, or maybe sell the wheels to my dad and buy slightly skinnier wheels for the A4. Either way, I really need the tires to buldge out some to protect my rims since my wife drives the car so much.
Christian J. Long

Default Not on Quattro - you are good to go with FWD

This was Gary's answer when I asked the same question few weeks back. Maybe double check with him.
The 235/45/17 is supposed to look really cool as it fills the wheel wells nice but still does not cause much speedo error.
