Default Conti SportContact2's,... anyone own these?

I need new tires for my 17"s, and these seem to be pretty good, just want to know if anyone has used them and their thoughts. Thanks!

Default I "had" them on my S4...

I think there are better tires out there in the same price space but they are not a bad tire if you don't need a Max performance tire. They complain loudly under stress but they are relatively quiet on the road if that is important to you. Average wet and dry grip.

Default What are your wants/needs?

wet/dry grip vs tire life vs noise??? summer vs all season...???

The CS2's are a decent tire but if all you need is an all season performer the CS Contact is cheaper and the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra is at that same level for even a little less.

If you want a good max performance tire for much less try the Kuhmo Ecsta MX. It has better grip but it will probably have a lower treadlife. If you are willing to pay a few bucks more you can get a Toyo T1-S, Goodyear F1 or a Bridgestone S-03 that are much better. Tire life will suck though.

Default They were OEM on my B6...

I was initially impressed with their smooth quiet ride and also felt good knowing it's also OEM on Porsche. However, they wear quickly and tramline (car pulls depending on road conditions) like crazy! Just look at the tread pattern...no wonder it does that!

I always thought my alignment was off, but after putting on a new set of wheels/tires, I realized that it wasn't my alignment, but the damn Conti's that were tramlining.

You might want to consider the Pirelli PZero Nero M+S instead.

Default They're OK...

if you don't need a ton of lateral grip.

They're very comfortable, quiet, and don't tramline anywhere nearly as bad as the S-03s that I had previously.

As I said, their dry grip isn't as good as the S-03s or even the P6000s that I had as OEM tires, but for casual street driving they're fine. As others said, it all depends on what your expectactions are.

I will probably not buy them again though. Wanna try something else next time - Dunlop SP Maxx possibly.
